*The client is not obligated to hire the lawyer for services beyond the initial 30-minute consultation. Nor is the lawyer required to accept the case. In fact, the problem may be resolved within the initial half-hour consultation. However, if the problem is serious enough to require additional services, and the client decides to hire the lawyer for further services, specific arrangements are to be negotiated directly between the client and the lawyer.
It’s as important to retain the right lawyer as it is to retain a lawyer at all. The LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE staff is dedicated to listening carefully to your need and then pin-pointing exactly the right type of lawyer for the job. Attorneys are carefully screened and their areas of experience identified before they are added to the LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE roster.
LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE is a non-profit public service organization consisting of over 50 area lawyers—all members in good standing with the State Bar of California –and all available to render legal assistance to people with problems.
The service is sponsored by the Tulare County Bar Association.
It is certified by the State Bar to provide lawyer referrals to the public.
The first step is a telephone call to the information staff of the LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE. A trained specialist will ask your name, address and telephone number and will ask for a brief description of your legal problem. In most instances, the caller can meet with an attorney within three days. All information is kept strictly confidential and every effort is made to refer you to an attorney who is experienced in your type of problem. Where possible, even the location of the attorney’s office is taken into consideration to make all arrangements as convenient as possible.
The LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE guarantees the first office visit of up to half-an-hour will cost only $30.00. In many instances, the half-hour session may be enough to clear up the entire matter, or the attorney can provide an estimate and will discuss the fee arrangement.
The LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE has been serving residents of Tulare County and Kings County for over 20 years. Each year, more than 1,500 people call for assistance.

El Servicio de Referencia de Abogados es una organización no lucrativa que cuenta con más de 50 abogados del área. Todos son miembros de la Barra del Estado con buena reputación y dispuestos a darle ayuda a las personas con problemas legales.

El Servicio de Referencia de Abogados le garantiza la consulta inicial de media hora a un bajo costo de $30 dólares.
